IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
· The position holder ensures that the Value Streams under her/his responsibility are correctly identified, defined, mapped, optimized, managed, and improved upon over time.
· The area of responsibility includes basically the Value Stream between the four walls of the plant; and in some cases, takes into consideration the inbound and outbound logistics to/from that plant.
· The position holder is responsible for leadership, daily management and direction of a defined number of Value Stream Supervisors and their teams, inclusive the dedicated engineering support functions.
· Leading a Value Stream as a mini factory includes the fulfilment of customer needs and levels of satisfaction, realizing an on-time production and in the most cost-efficient manner while adhering to quality standards & with consideration given to human resource, health and safety and budgetary criteria.
· The objectives related to Lean Production are the increase of the ratio of value to non-value-added work, by eliminating waste in the overall supply chain from start to finish, for one or more defined Product families. This includes the
driving of the continuous improvement of the Value Stream landscape.
· The incumbent operates in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment handling multiple projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Defines and arranges clear production schedules, set priorities and goals and supervise production plans to ensure “productivity” and “on time delivery”.
· Ensures the highest levels of product quality, delivery performance, customer satisfaction, cost effectiveness and safety. Ensures to provide 100% On-Time Delivery to our Customers.
· Ensure the production safety, environment and shop floor workers’ safety, health and Personal protective. Ensure good housekeeping (5S)
· Study and take corrective actions on internal and external (customer) complaints
· Build & manage effective teams, ensuring that production staff are effectively motivated, trained and evaluated and that performance targets are achieved and exceeding our Customer expectations in a demanding customer focused environment.
· Monitors and measures the performance of staff by establishing realistic departmental goals and objectives. Conducts formal annual
performance evaluations of staff.
· Controls production standards (including quality, safety & performance standards)
· Monitors manufacturing expense line items about budget (e.g. direct labor, materials, scrap) and brings forth financial recommendations to modify, reallocate or otherwise affect expenditures
· Develops and implements plant operating plans and continual improvement projects consistent with the business strategic direction (capacity planning, efficiencies, labor strategies, productivity improvement)
· Provides manufacturing solutions to increase the bottom line profitability of operations (production processes, work methods, materials flow, workflow, people skills, and productivity).
· Reviews and recommends capital and operational improvements to minimize cost variances and build manufacturing budget objectives.
· Creates action plans and delegates initiatives to challenge the team to achieve excellence and seek continuous improvement of manufacturing systems and processes to attain Total Customer Satisfaction.
· Defines Training initiatives and conducts performance assessment for the Value Stream Supervisors, Production Line Leaders and Operators to have the right skill, knowledge and attitude
· Coordinates different parties of operations team (Engineering, planning, etc.) to make sure smooth production
· Ensures appropriate Lean principles and practices are adopted by all members of the Value Stream.
· Implement new initiatives Other projects and responsibilities assigned by company and department head.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Above 5 years experiences in production management at manufacturing industries, with leadership capacity (multiple reporting preferred) and a successful operations track record.
· Degree qualification in a within a related discipline (Manufacturing Management, Engineering, Materials Management, Industrial Management) from a recognized post-secondary institution
· Financial management program as it relates to manufacturing
· Technical training on process and equipment
