Lloyd's Register Technical Support Office supports Shipyards, Owners, Navies, Designers and Manufacturers, driving maritime safety of people, environment and ships. For the Machinery Team we are currently looking for a qualified candidate to join our Shanghai Office. The purpose of this role is to support the Machinery Specialists in our global team with their responsibilities to carry out plan approval and making quotations.

The Role
- Prioritise, plan and complete preview of tasks and estimate the appropriate budgets in line with global and local business requirements. Includes liaising with clients, dealing with complex queries and proactively resolving service issues within agreed deadlines/targets.
- Liaise with and provide support to other team members, departments and offices, as may be required.
- Build and maintain good client relationships through proactive communication and action to fulfil client expectations.
- Develop a good knowledge and understanding of Engineering/Machinery products, services, systems and processes on an on-going basis.
- To produce a report / certificate / document to an agreed format and within an agreed timescale.
- To communicate customer feedback.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- To make suggestions to improve service delivery effectiveness through changes to processes or work scope such that it leads to a reduction in appraisal effort (where applicable).
What you bring
- A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering (Naval Architecture, Marine or Mechanical)
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- High degree of accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task, planning and organising with good time management skill.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
- Energetic, responsive team player with an interest in safety and keen to use initiative.
- A proactive approach to problem solving with a flexible attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure and get the job done.
- Experience and ability of working across different nationalities and cultures.
