Objectives:
To support the maintenance and development of the school’s academic and data systems; both academic and non-academic. The post holder will play a key role in working with the school’s academic leadership team to ensure systems are prepared and maintained appropriately to record, store and analyse student, staff, and curriculum data. The role will work closely with other Academic System Managers from Dehong School’s and across the EiM network. This is to ensure alignment across the Dehong Schools and to ensure access to additional resources afforded by the relationship with EiM are available to the school.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or related fields.
Skills/experience:
?Both English and Mandarin are required for communication in the school.
?Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field
?Extensive skills with a variety of DB-based
?software and programs.
Experience maintaining and supporting information systems.
?Good understanding of education environment IT support.
?Effective planning and time management
?Creative and effective use of resources, including education technology
?Ability to maintain student focus and active engagement on learning
?Strong, clear communication and listening skills
Responsibilities:
Organisation, Leadership, Management
?In conjunction with EiM Data and Information Services Department (EiM DIS), execute a strategic Academic Systems plan.
?Ensure that colleagues are aware of strategic developments relating to Academic Systems and that they can operate independently.
?Ensure that the values, policies, and practices, of the school are followed when developing Academic Systems.
?Prepare an annual Academic Systems review of systems at the school.
?Coordinate representatives of the school’s academic team to facilitate the development of functions related to specific school-based activities; including but not limited to assessment and reporting, curriculum and timetable, student wellbeing and safeguarding.
?Facilitate group review processes for new and existing Academic Systems and support the communication between the school and group (Dehong / EiM) in such matters.
?Lead on key workshops relevant to the school throughout the year such as induction of new staff to Academic Systems.
?Have oversight and responsibility for quality assurance of information in Academic Systems, organisation of the information, and its accessibility to all staff.
?Lead on the end of year procedures for Academic Systems at the school. Prepare systems for new academic years based on gathered requirements.
?Implement strategies for initiating and sustaining technology innovations and manage the change process in schools and classrooms
Information Systems Management – iSAMS
?In conjunction with school leadership, maintain an ownership overview for systems, modules, and data in iSAMS
?Support system, module, and data owners, in ensuring they have the access and skills required to maintain iSAMS appropriately, escalating any observed issues when required
?Support the expansion and promotion of iSAMS across the school and ensure integrated platforms run appropriately
?Support on possible improvements of systems in each school division
?Manage the identification of system issues and provide timely solutions; coordinating with EiM and vendor support teams where required
?Represent the school at Group-wide Academic Systems meetings and disseminate outcomes of the meetings with relevant groups across the school
?Represent the school’s Academic Systems requirements when discussing new projects and initiatives with group / EiM
?Lead on iSAMS administration, including but not limited to:
oAdministration of modules and portals
oInformation manipulation and production of reports
oResponse to staff enquiries regarding data and reporting
oImport of the completed timetable to set up new academic year
oAlignment of subject/set codes with EiM and other systems
oRoll over data and prepare for new academic year based on requirements
Learning Management Systems
?Ensure the quality and integrity of data integrations from iSAMS via FlexiData, Clever, Salamander, and other integration services
?Participate in the development and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive integration of technology tools (School Box, Seesaw, Managebac etc.) to promote excellence and support transformational change throughout the instructional environment
?Amend source data to ensure integrated systems are accurate
?Work with third parties to ensure LMS systems and integrations are up to date and secure
?Review effectiveness of LMS systems, engaging end users
?Identify and share opportunities for enhancing integrations to EiM DIS
?Ensure data and system owners are able to access and maintain systems as required
Data Management – D3 Insights
?Manage the identification of system issues and provide timely solutions
?Lead on D3 Insights Dashboard administration, including but not limited to:
oInformation manipulation in source system
oChecking accuracy of reported data
oReviewing and updating of historic data
Assessment and Student Reporting
?Support the standardisation, capture and processing of student, staff, and curriculum data in iSAMS or other Academic Systems, including but not limited to data relating to student behaviour, attendance, wellbeing, timetable, and assessment
?Ensure reporting information is gathered accurately and in a timely manner
?Ensure information is reported to parents as required by each school’s leadership teams in a concise, clear and timely fashion
?Ensure assessment data collection standards are aligned and integrated with D3 Insights
Information Reporting and Analysis
?Lead on the creation of reports and analysis to support the requirements of staff in liaison with the relevant leadership at each school
?Liaise with functions across the school and work on the most effective way of producing and analysing reports
Data Quality Control
?Comply with all necessary regulatory requirements regarding information security, accuracy, and completeness
?Be aware of, comply with, and lead on policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security confidentiality and data protection
Training
?Plan the induction of new staff at the school to core Academic Systems.
