Preparing two CIE practical exam each year for individual student for chemistry and biology subject.
Preparing resources, making up solutions, assembling chemistry and biology equipment, delivering equipment to labs. Constructing and modifying apparatus.Give technical advice to teachers, technicians and students.
Chemistry and biology equipment maintenance.
Assisting and demonstrating in practical classes.Assisting students with practical work as required.
Preparing for chemistry club and chemistry challenge activities.
Clearing away from laboratories to storage areas, cleaning and checking of practical equipment. Checking conditions of chemicals.
Organizing laboratories. Keeping prep room tidy.Ensuring that the laboratories are maintained as suitable working environments.
Trialing practical before handling over to class
Carry out risk assessments of practical requested by teachers.
Carry out risk assessment for technician activities. ·
Provide advice on safe practice when unsafe practice is observed or anticipated.
Keep up to date with current CLEAPPS health and safety information ·
Taking care of hazard chemicals.Safe disposal of chemical and biological waste according to local regulations and guidelines.
Checking laboratory sinks to remove hazardous substances or recyclable materials.
Ordering chemicals, organs, chemistry and biology equipment etc. Help stocktaking chemicals, equipment and stationary. Help in the checking of deliveries including stationary. Research possibilities for local purchases.
Monitor access to science laboratories and prep room.
Keeping financial records.
